- You must close on your home purchase no later than Nov. 30, 2009!
- The tax credit is equal to 10% of the home's purchase price up to a maximum of $8,000.
- There is no minimum income for claiming the credit. If you don't owe any taxes, you can receive it in cash.
- Claim the credit for your 2009 Tax Return - or get it now by filing an amended 2008 return to receive the money upon purchase of your home.
- Programs also offer advance money to help on your downpayment.
